What should I check before buying?
- Confirm that your system uses 24 VAC control wiring and identify the terminals (R, C, W, Y, G, O/B).
- Check stage count and heat pump needs. The OWON datasheets list 2-stage heating and 2-stage cooling, and heat pump support with auxiliary and emergency heat.
- Check whether a C-wire is available. The PCT5231-W-TY and PCT533-W-TY list an optional C-wire adaptor, and the PCT513-TY lists a power module that powers the thermostat without a C-wire.
- Use a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
What do remote zone sensors do?
Remote zone sensors let the thermostat read temperature in other rooms, so you can balance hot and cold spots. The PCT513-TY supports up to 16 remote zone sensors and the PCT5231-W-TY up to 10.
